The Word of His Grace, assigns every member to a Pastoral Care group. These groups are designed to be an extension of the Senior Pastor's love and compassion toward all members. He believes that a Pastor should be available for every medical emergency, every twist and turn in life, every family celebration and every crisis. On a continual basis, our leaders are taught how to care for each other in groups. Groups based care isn’t just practical, it’s biblical.
It’s thoroughly biblical, and goes as far back as Exodus 18, when Jethro confronted Moses about doing everything himself. Also, in the new testament, Jesus use care groups when he divided the disciples into groups of seventy, twelve, three and then one to minister to the needs of the people. A Senior Pastor cannot be everywhere at all times, but care teams make that possible whenever the need arise. 98% of pastoral care is having someone who cares. It doesn’t have to be the Senior pastor. 2% of the time there will be situations where the need of a member exceeds the ability of the group to help. If this is the case, the Pastoral Care Team will escalate the situation of the member to the Senior Pastoral staff and/or the Senior Pastor.
